Kommetjie Village Vibes

Kommetjie Beach - Summer Days

Arrive and put down your bags in one of our Kommetjie villas; you’ll find yourself slow down to the laidback rhythm of Kommetjie Village Vibes. Take a deep breath and let your body unknot to enjoy the expansive views of Long Beach and Chapman’s Peak. The song of the waves will soothe you as you savour the thought of days ahead – filled only with sun, sea and the relaxed village social life.

As the sun rises, wander over to the village hub for breakfast at one of the cafés, and browse the local deli to stock up on artisan breads and Cape wine for a luxurious lunch at the poolside of your villa.

It’s an easy stroll along the wooden boardwalk towards the lighthouse, with occasional stops for the kids to explore the many rock pools along the way. Surf breaks aplenty to add a hint of exciting viewing with kids and adult surfers taking on the small to enormous Atlantic swells

How to find the Whales in Cape Town

Where are the whales and how do you find them?  Join the “Cape Peninsula Whale & Dolphin Sightings” group on the ‘Telegram’ app.

Sightings and locations are posted throughout the day by over 500 whale watchers, so you can head straight to the nearest spot to enjoy the show or wait for them to pass in front of your villa!  Humpbacks, Southern Right and a variety of dolphins can be seen along the coast on an almost daily basis. If you’re lucky, the resident Killer whales, Port and Starboard. They are a pair of adult male orcas that prey on great white sharks off our coast. They each have a rare and distinct collapsed dorsal fin and they are named for the nautical terms, as Port’s fin collapses left and Starboard’s collapses right.
